It’s time to put all groveling to an end.

Summary:

  • Throughout the years, General Hospital has seemed to favor some of its characters more than others.
  • Nina Reeves is one of those characters who has been on the losing end of things lately.
  • However, it seems that the new writers' magic is working in her favor, ending years of senseless suffering.

To say that General Hospital fans were excited about the new head writers coming into full power this March would be a massive understatement. Viewers were overjoyed to see Chris Van Etten and Dan O'Connor replaced by Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte, and expected nothing but soapy excellence from the new team.

However, half of the decisions the new team has made so far have been slightly disappointing. From putting Carly front and center in Jason's storyline to redeeming Heather with one of the most far-fetched excuses, there have been quite a few missteps. They are all easily overlooked for Nina, though.

If General Hospitals continues in the direction it has taken lately, there may not be a need to kill off Nina. And that alone calls for a major celebration.

Are Nina and Valentin Back Together?

Finally, after so many years of struggle and constant loss, Nina seems to be lifted up and led to something far more exciting. As Sonny, who recently signed his divorce papers, loses points of respect in the eyes of those around him, Nina seems to be gaining the support of old flames.

Even though she and Valentine have a long history, it feels like the sparks are flying between them again. However, it's not the romance that has fans so excited to see what comes next for Nina, but the words of appreciation that were finally spoken to her.

It felt therapeutic to hear, and it will be even more healing to see Nina act on her newfound confidence in whatever storyline comes next. The one-sided war that Drew started with her may not be over yet, so viewers are in for some nasty fighting, but at least now we know that Nina Reeves won't go down easily.

While many people thought that her character had been pushed past the point of no return and it was easier to write her off than to see her suffer over and over again like a punching bag for all the favored leads like Carly and Sonny, the tables seem to be turning.

Every storyline is making a 180-degree turn and, dare we say it, General Hospital is getting more interesting to watch every week.

To see where the upcoming episodes will take the characters and how the power will shift in Port Charles as Sonny slowly loses authority in the eyes of the other residents, tune in to General Hospital Monday through Friday on ABC.
