General Hospital Fans Split Over Carly’s New Love Prospects: Is It a Waste?
Does she deserve yet another man at her feet?
Throughout General Hospital 's 60 years on ABC, viewers have had many opportunities to understand just how gray the majority of the soap's characters really are. While viewers love to play favorites and see characters in black and white, Port Charles' constant drama has drawn everyone in and forced everyone to make some questionable decisions.
However, some characters on the show will always be more hated than others, whether they deserve it or not. Laura Wright's Carly Corinthos is one of them, and viewers' annoyance with her forces them to question whether Carly really deserves another chance at a blossoming romance, only to throw it away.
Will Carly and Brennan Get Together on General Hospital?
Created by Charles Mesure in December 2023, Jack Brennan is a Port Charles newcomer who has been on and off the screen for half a year. However, his limited appearances have been enough for many viewers to find him charming and to want to see him more involved in the main storylines.
What many other viewers have noticed is Charles Mesure's undeniable chemistry with Laura Wright, which could actually lead to an interesting on-screen romance for Carly. However, given the character's reputation, fans are hesitant to even suggest that this relationship could happen.
After all, no one really expects Carly to end up with anyone other than Jason or Sonny at this point, so is there any need to waste an interesting character on her only to hastily write him off later?
Right now, one of the main goals of the show is to save Carly from the threat of jail time, and it seems like an entire Port Charles is about to put aside their differences to come to her rescue. While this is a very branded plot for the writers to come up with, given their affection for Carly, many believe that this plot will also determine her love life.
Sonny and Jason teaming up to save the damsel in distress could not only lead to Sonny's return to Carly's life, but also to the reemergence of some feelings between them. Given the heat that still lingers between her and Jason, we wouldn't write him off so easily either. If Brennan fits into this love triangle and makes it a rectangle, his claim better not be weak.
