If anything, fans are getting hopeful for a breath of fresh air.

While the majority of TV viewers are worried about their favorite shows being affected by the writers strike that began this Tuesday, General Hospital fans are surprisingly calm.

The show has been airing daily, Monday through Friday, on ABC for more than 60 years, with only one hiatus due to strict COVID restrictions.

Fans have every right to believe that the show, which has survived so many changes, will survive this strike.

Some are even hoping to see some new moves in the soap that have long since disappeared. After all, this would be General Hospital's best chance to bring in the absurdity with more than enough reason for it.

The fans took it upon themselves to come up with some ideas that could help the temporary writers come up with storylines.

Needless to say, these ideas are everything the fanbase has dreamed of while constantly complaining about how boring and repetitive the episodes have become.

No more terminal illness, no more kids and pregnancies just for the sake of it, no more Carly: just a soapy mess that couldn't be explained in any other scenario than the writers' strike.

One of the ideas that was very popular with the fans was to bring back the Ice Princess storyline. First of all, it was a great story that many would like to see revisited.

Second, it happened over 40 years ago, all the way back in 1981. What's not to like?

Viewers would be dying to see how the remaining characters from the 80s could work together with someone from the new generation brought into the story.

Reruns of the most popular episodes would also be very welcome. With over 15,000 episodes available and more than 60 years of hard work, General Hospital definitely has something to offer re-watchers if they get stuck producing the newer stories.

Considering the poor reception of the latest Nurses' Ball, many agree that they'd like to see the older ones, where General Hospital really shined.

Whether or not General Hospital will survive the 2023 writers' strike without any loss of quality, we'll have to wait and see. Tune in to ABC Monday through Friday to check out the episodes for yourself.
