General Hospital Fans Are Head Over Heels For This '90s Supercouple Return

Ever since General Hospital fans learned about the comeback of in-universe superstar Eddie Maine, the question has been raised as to whether his past would be brought back. While no promises were made, viewers were sure from the beginning that if Eddie was going to return, Lois was going to follow sooner or later.

As it turned out, that was exactly the plan. Since Ned's alter ego doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, the appearance of Eddie's partner in crime, love interest, and perhaps most important source of inspiration is inevitable.

The news of Rena Sofer's return only confirmed the idea that General Hospital viewers already had: Lois will be at the center of this storyline.

While the majority of fans believe that Lois Cerullo will somehow help Ned find his way back to his normal self, as well as save viewers from more cringe-worthy performances, the reality is that this may not be an easy task.

Since Lois can easily be called the best thing that ever happened to Eddie Maine, her return may only push him back into a shell of a character.

What's for sure is that no matter what the future holds for Lois, fans are over the moon with the news of her comeback to Port Charles. The fact that she will be played by the show's veteran, rather than a recast, only adds to the excitement. In fact, this news will bring even those viewers who have lost interest in General Hospital back to their screens:

According to the reports that are available today, Rena Sofer has finished filming her last scene already, so her return will be quite brief. Yet the viewers are convinced it would have a magical effect on Ned Quartermaine’s consciousness and bring him back to life.
