Aren't there enough plot devices to keep this one as well?

Summary:

  • Willow's storylines make no sense, and viewers are getting tired of all the nonsense the writers are offering in her arc.
  • The twist with Nina became an annoyance instead of a tool to revive the character.
  • Some fans think that the show would only benefit if there was no Willow at all.

General Hospital is one of the most popular soap operas that even now, after more than 60 years on the air, keeps the audience invested in whatever nonsense the writers decide to pull off in the series.

The never-ending drama, all the scandals and affairs, the murders and the unanswered mysteries – all this is a part of the show that the audience has a love-hate relationship with.

However, sometimes even the most dedicated fans get tired of some storylines or characters. There's always a limit, right? And it seems that the time has come to hate Willow (once again...).

Many Redditors find themselves fully invested in a conversation about how annoying Willow is, and apparently she has been causing feelings like that for more than a year now. The thing is, the fans are waiting for her character to get into at least one interesting story, but the writers are giving her nothing instead.

There was a perfect way to make her appealing again, when there was a chance that their ball game with Nina would start again, but that never happened.

“I feel like they don't know what to do with her. She is uneven with Michael, which has made her parenting look uneven as well. She isn't talking to Nina. Her nursing isn't exactly a keynote. Idk, it just seems like they don't know what they are doing with her,” Redditor LickyBoy said.

Some viewers even said that Willow is now simply a plot device rather than an actual character. At that point, there’s even no sense in keeping her in the show…

“I hate to say this about a character, but they should've let her die. She really has no other purpose other than being Michael's wife. And that seems like in name only. And the growth she and Nina were having were good, but of course they had to 86 that because of her allegiance to Carly,” Redditor BreaRoePhilly said.

Well, it feels like there's no chance that we'll get anything exciting enough to keep us from being totally disappointed, but who knows... General Hospital is famous for its never-ending plot twists when you don't expect them at all.
