The 60th anniversary doesn’t seem like a General Hospital celebration at all.

When the show reaches the 60-year mark, it’s obvious that there is a small army of fans very loyal to it, and ready to follow it through every hardship it might face. That is why usually there is some time of celebration, aimed to say “thank you” to everyone who stuck around and continues to watch.

However, General Hospital fans said the celebration was underwhelming so far, to say the least. They surely did see a couple of cameos, and there are a couple of vets paying another visit to Port Charles, but overall the atmosphere is far from a promised year-long anniversary celebration.

One thing that seems to bother fans a lot, is the number of cameos from another daytime drama that keeps happening. Although no one would be opposed to the idea of a crossover, these characters have a tendency to hop in and hop out of General Hospital taking a lot of precious screentime with no real consequences to their storyline.

With yet another cameo like this announced this September, fans are getting increasingly more tense. In any other circumstances, One Life to Live’s Blair Cramer would be a welcomed guest in Port Charles, but right now it feels like the writers are desperately trying to fill the gaps in story with whoever but the characters they originally have.

“This is supposed to be GH’s 60th anniversary. Not sure why we’re focused on all these [non-General Hospital] characters coming to the show…and don’t get me started on the cast already being so bloated that regular cast members can’t get screen time…” user EvelynF60553074 shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Unfortunately, fans don’t see the appeal of mixing things up with another character, when they are forced to skip days of General Hospital content just to see their favorites on screen again. The recruitment of temporary writers due to an ongoing WGA strike seems to make the issue even worse.

Either way, Kassie DePaiva’s appearance on General Hospital as Blair Cramer is already confirmed. So if you are interested to see what brings her to Port Charles, tune in to ABC Monday through Friday to not miss a thing!
