Always be afraid of your desires, they said.

General Hospital is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas on television today and the interest in the main characters is growing day by day.

And, as is always the case with this type of show, there are usually a lot of cast changes throughout the series, so sometimes it's hard to keep up with them.

But still, every show has its favorites, the ones fans hope to see back on the set even when they're gone. This time, the perfect character to fit that description is General Hospital's Ethan.

After he was kidnapped by Victor, fans just knew they had to see him again. So they crossed their fingers and waited.

And recently, their hopes were raised when the show celebrated its 60th anniversary. What a surprise it would be to see one of their favorite characters return?

The timing would be perfect, fans thought.

Well, just a few days ago, fans got what they wanted when Holly and Felicia finally found the long-lost Ethan, who was actually part of an auction as an item... where the highest bidder would end his life!

Ethan was brought out with something covering his face and body and then for the big reveal it was pulled off and the fans saw... not Nathan Parsons!

The thing is, that the actor who originally played Ethan never returned as fans had expected, so General Hospital has recast Luke and Holly's son with new actor James Ryan.

It is important to note that the two Ethans do not look alike. The first one was dark-haired, and the new one is curly blond, but he actually looks more like his movie father.

The first reaction of the fans was predictable: nobody liked the change. But then some fans found a way to welcome the newcomer.

"While I would have liked to see the original Ethan, I'll keep an open mind on the new actor. Recasts can take some time to get used to and it has really only been one episode that we have seen him in and he only had minimal interaction with the other characters in that episode.

I don't understand the people disliking him on the set just because he is a different actor and he is blond. It's a soap; recasts happen. Give him a chance," Redditor Visitor_42 said.

Well, it looks like the new Ethan is here to stay, so fans better get used to the new handsome male character. We believe it won't be that hard.
