Gen V Theory Highlights Marie's Surprising Connections To A Powerful Figure From The Boys
Episode 5 revealed that Marie Moreau is being protected by someone influential, but it seems that fans have already figured out who it is.
As Gen V passes its halfway point, the show's storyline is becoming increasingly convoluted, with several unexpected plot twists.
Episode 5 of the series featured a particularly intriguing turn of events when a virus specifically designed to control supes once and for all was mentioned in a conversation between Dean Indira Shetty and Dr. Cardosa.
Cardosa stated that he is incredibly close to perfecting it, and that having Marie Moreau as a test subject would have greatly aided his research due to the unique nature of her powers.
However, Shetty interrupted and forbade Cardosa from involving Marie because the young bloodbender has a very influential benefactor behind her.
While the identity of this mysterious figure has yet to be revealed, fans have come up with a pretty convincing theory as to who it might actually be.
The Answer Is Hidden In Plain Sight
They believe that Stan Edgar, portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito, the former CEO of Vought International who was removed from his position in the third season of The Boys, must have been keeping an eye on Marie and secretly preparing her to become his protegee.
Considering that Edgar has done the exact same thing before, this theory becomes even more plausible.
Victoria Neuman, portrayed by Claudia Doumit, who turned against her adoptive father in season 3 of the main series, has an almost identical origin to Marie, as she accidentally killed her parents as a child, unable to control her superpowers.
Now that she is no longer on his side and he has been fired from his position at Vought, Edgar may be looking for a replacement to use in his schemes, and Marie, with her unique and incredibly powerful abilities, seems like a perfect candidate.
She could serve as a tool to help Stan return from his forced retirement and protect him from two incredibly dangerous superhumans: Victoria and maybe even Homelander himself.
Either way, hopefully we will find out soon enough if this theory was right all along.
Episode 6 of Gen V will premiere on October 20, 2023.
