Previously, Amazon Studios was forced to suspend the filming of the second season due to the tragic death of actor Chance Perdomo. The writers of the spin-off decided that there would be no recasting and that the plot would be changed to rework the storylines and honor the actor's memory.
The second season of Gen V does not have an exact release date yet. However, the show is in production and it was recently revealed that the second chapter will be released in 2025.

In the season 4 finale, The Boys try to escape, but everyone except Starlight, who has regained her powers, and Butcher, are captured. This happens with the help of the supes from Gen V — telepath Cate and super-strong Sam.
Apparently, in the fifth season, Starlight will have to rescue her friends from captivity and then come up with a plan to eliminate Homelander. Maybe she won't be able to do it without the help of Ryan and Soldier Boy.
In addition, The Boys season 5 will apparently be the starting point for the new season of Gen V. The main characters of the spin-off are somewhere in Vought’s captivity and will most likely join forces with the Boys at the end of the second season.
