In 2022, the prequel to the hit series Game of Thrones saw the light of day and, eventually, success. What do the stars of the House of the Dragon's predecessor think of the show?

Well, they definitely think that they don't want to watch it.

Much like his co-star Emilia Clarke , Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones, is not exactly pining for season 2 of House of the Dragon.

In an interview for The Wrap, the actor revealed that he still hadn't watched the HBO series – and it is all because of the show's opening credits!

Coster-Waldau saw the title sequence one day and thought that it was a little "too familiar." He is not wrong though!

House of the Dragon basically took Game of Thrones's opening credits and reworked them a bit. Still, the theme music and the title sequence can easily be traced to the original.

Is that all it took for Coster-Waldau to reconsider watching the show? Apparently so.

However, there could be a future where the Kingslayer himself goes back to watch the prequel. He just wants to "give them a couple of years" so that he can "binge-watch the whole thing" later.

That can only work if the show doesn't replicate the predecessor's success.

If the show runs for eight seasons like the original, Coster-Waldau may need more than a few weeks to binge-watch all of the seasons!

The actor also said that he was "so happy" about the show's success and the love it receives from the fans, and he promised to "watch it eventually." Well, it is his loss for now!

If you miss having Nikolaj on your screen, you can rejoice because he has a new project coming up. The Last Thing He Told Me is a thriller miniseries that is set to debut on Apple TV+ on April 14.

Coster-Waldau plays Owen Michaels, the husband who goes missing after the company he works for is accused of fraud. Sounds exciting, right?

We are glad that the actor seems to have his post-Game of Thrones career all figured out, and maybe he will catch House of the Dragon when the timing is right.

Perhaps, he can invite Emilia Clarke over for a binge-watch session?
