If you haven't watched these movies, you might want to give them a shot, especially since they got a mention on Friends.

It's been years since we bid Friends farewell, but their on-screen adventures still make us laugh, cry, and cherish the power of friendship.

But Friends is also a cultural phenomenon, and of course, it featured many pop culture references. We are going to look back at some of the best instances when Friends mentioned real-life movies.

Bambi (Season 6, episode 14)

A timeless Disney animated film that follows the journey of a young deer as he navigates life, was mentioned in Friends’ sixth season.

While watching E.T., Phoebe says that Bambi is sadder than this, and she cried for three days about it.

In the episode, Chandler, Ross, and Joey are watching Die Hard. Guys seem enthusiastic about the movie even for the second time.

Die Hard is a classic action movie starring Bruce Willis as John McClane, a cop who finds himself trapped in a skyscraper during a terrorist takeover.

Weekend at Bernie's (Season 1, episode 11)

Chandler suggests that they don't have to watch the Tonight Show since they have the option to watch Weekend at Bernie's. It is also mentioned at some point on the show that it is Rachel's favorite movie.

Weekend at Bernie's is an awesome movie about these two guys who find out that their boss, Bernie, is dead. But instead of freaking out, they come up with a wild plan to pretend he's still alive and have the time of their lives.

Dangerous Liaisons is a 1988 drama film based on the novel of the same name. Set in 18th-century France, it tells the story of two manipulative aristocrats who get their kicks from playing mind games and causing a whole lot of drama.

Blue Velvet (Season 3, episode 5)

In the episode, Ross meets Isabella Rossellini, who starred in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. As he tries to hit on her, he says he's a huge fan and even mentions the cult movie.
