Fran Drescher Can't Even Think Of The Nanny's Reboot Now

While we all appreciate Fran Drescher's acting, 2023 proved her to be an even more competent leader for the entire SAG-AFTRA union, which went on strike with the WGA writers in July and continued to negotiate better terms for all unionized actors until November, when the new contract was signed.
As SAG-AFRA's first strike in 43 years, the strike generated a lot of media attention, and as the union's president, Drescher was under a lot of pressure and scrutiny.
From leaked communications to reports from the negotiators themselves, it was clear that the producers and studio executives were not willing to compromise. But that made the workers' victory all the sweeter. Now that the strike is over and the actress can finally return to her creative pursuits, should we expect any new projects?
Will There Be Revival Of The Nanny?
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Fran Drescher once again declared her love for The Nanny series and expressed her happiness to be able to share The Nanny content as usual. While some actors are too afraid to become known for a particular role, Drescher seems to be in complete harmony with Fran.
However, that doesn't mean that returning to the role or such a production is in any way an option. At least not for the time being.
“I can’t even think about doing a sitcom right now. I’m so exhausted by all this. But I never say never to anything. The show that I did is as popular today as it was 30 years ago. The fashion, the comedy, the look. So, it’s still very much alive and well,” she said.
So, leaving the door open for the possibility, Fran Drescher puts a pause on the discussion of a possible reboot of The Nanny. While this may be disappointing to some, others will probably find comfort in the thought that their favorite childhood show won't be affected by the wave of low-quality revivals anytime soon.
