Forget Abby Sciuto, NCIS’ Tony and Ziva Better Reunite With This Character

With the announcement of the new spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva, the franchise has opened up a whole realm of possibilities never before explored. Previously, all NCIS spinoffs had the same formula, with only the location changing, but now the universe is being expanded with characters from the past continuing their story elsewhere.

While the European setting of the show, as well as the fact that it will be produced for streaming on Paramount Plus rather than airing on cable, further distances the spinoff from crossover opportunities, some character appearances could still be written into the script. And fans really want to see more familiar faces.

Will Jimmy Palmer Be on NCIS: Tony & Ziva?

While there are many characters that longtime fans of the franchise would love to see drop by Paris alongside former agents Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, one would make for a particularly nostalgic reunion. Jimmy Palmer, who was the backbone of the show for many years after the two left, would be a great addition.

Not only the viewers agree. Brian Dietzen, who portrays the Chief Medical Examiner, also thinks it would be a great idea. The actor shared his excitement about the upcoming spinoff at the Monte Carlo TV Festival.

“I’m so happy for Michael and Cote and think John McNamara is going to do a fantastic job for them. <...> If they say: ‘Hey we need Jimmy Palmer on a plasma screen’ at any point, I’d say hell yes, that’d be fun, I’d do that in a heartbeat,” Dietzen said.

There is always a possibility that Tony and Ziva will need the help of a friend, and who would they trust more than a person who has stood by them for so many years? Jimmy Palmer's cameo would make a lot of sense in that regard. However, only time will tell if we will see him in the production.

So far, NCIS: Tony & Ziva hasn't released any casting updates. All viewers know that Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo will be back as Tony and Ziva, and the rest, including the actress behind their daughter Tali, remains a mystery.
