Young Sheldon’s season 6 finale left many viewers in disarray. One actress has finally decided to spare audiences any more wondering and answered the question that has been bugging them.

The hour-long season 6 finale aired almost two months ago, and it was spectacular. So much was happening: Sheldon and Missy had their drama going, Missy was still up to more mischief, Sheldon and Mary were getting ready for their trip, and Georgie and Mandy were getting engaged.

Just as Sheldon and Mary left for Germany, the tornado hit Medford. Missy and George had their bonding moment, and Meemaw revealed her side hustle to Pastor Jeff and other citizens in an attempt to hide them from the tornado. The episode ended with Meemaw’s house getting completely obliterated, while the Coopers’ residence was left unscathed. How come?

The houses were literally next to each other, so why did only Connie’s home get blown away? Young Sheldon star Raegan Revord, who plays Missy Cooper, has something to say about that.

Turns out, Meemaw’s real-life house is situated at Warner Ranch, which is where the cast films many “exterior scenes” of the Coopers’ neighborhood, and the location is set to be “demolished” this summer. However, the Coopers’ real-life residence is located somewhere in Los Angeles, which “won’t be affected.”

That is why the writers had to come up with a way to keep the Coopers’ house but get rid of Meemaw’s, and the tornado storyline is actually pretty brilliant. In reality, tornadoes are pretty erratic, so whose house gets destroyed and whose doesn’t is just dumb luck.

Another reason the tornado plot twist is great is the fact that it allows the George cheating storyline to progress in season 7. If Connie buys another house or moves in with Dale, she won’t be as available to Sheldon as she has been.

This could mean that Meemaw won’t be giving lifts to Sheldon to and from school, and he will have to find another means of transport, leading him to come home unexpectedly one day and walk in on George with another woman, just like he told Penny on The Big Bang Theory.

Let’s see what Young Sheldon’s season 7 will bring. For now, we are just happy to finally have an explanation for the plot twist in the season 6 finale.

Do you think the writers will have George cheat on Mary in season 7?
