11. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
This spin-off film centers around a bounty hunter for the DSS, Luke Hobbs, and a former UKSF military officer and assassin, Deckard Shaw.
The movie offers a fresh dynamic, combining action, and undeniable chemistry between the two leads. But there are solid reasons why this movie took the last place on the list.
Fast & Furious has its heart, it is not simply about the standoff between good and bad guys, it's about family and faith, and that's what this movie lacks.
10. The Fate of the Furious (2017)
In the eighth installment, the franchise takes a bold turn as Dom Toretto turns against his crew and joins the dark side.
While it features spectacular action set pieces and introduces a new villain, it falters slightly in terms of storytelling cohesion.
This part seems aimless, as the crew probably didn't know what direction to take after Paul Walker 's death.
9. Fast & Furious (2009)
This fourth entry in the series is actually the first real sequel in the franchise. It reunites the original cast but falls short of the Fast & Furious potential.
It suffers from a convoluted plot and lacks the exhilarating energy of the later films. It also deprives fans of the long-awaited reunion of Dom and Brian, as it completely lacks the bond they had in the first part of the franchise.
8. Fast X (2023)
The first part of the Fast & Furious story finale. Being the homestretch of a franchise that has lasted over two decades may be a heavy burden to bear, but Fast X definitely deserves its spotlight.
From a prominent cliffhanger never before seen in the franchise, to the reunion of seemingly every possible Fast & Furious cast member, including Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and even Gal Gadot, the film is worthy of the title of franchise successor.
And thanks to Jason Momoa, we think we found our new favorite sadistic villain.
7. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
Despite its vibrant Tokyo setting, thrilling drifting sequences, and unforgettable soundtracks, this part is disconnected from the main story.
The introduction of a new main character fails to engage the viewer as much as the core characters.
However, the absence of Dom and his family didn't stop the third installment from having its own personality, which was imprinted forever in our minds and is still considered one of the best among some of the franchise fans.
6. F9: The Fast Saga (2021)
While the film was criticized for being ridiculous, we believe it proved that the franchise still has some gas left in the tank.
Introducing a new antagonist, Dom's long-lost brother Jacob, the film delves into the complex family dynamics of the Toretto clan while delivering breathtaking stunts, thrilling chases and explosive action sequences.
The film develops its main storyline by intertwining the past and present of Dom's family.
5. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
The sequel that is not really a sequel. While Vin Diesel 's character, Dominic Toretto, does not appear in this installment, the focus shifts to Brian O'Conner and his life as a Southern California cop.
Although the second part of the franchise didn't have a promising storyline, it gave us the whole movie about Paul Walker's character and managed to introduce two charismatic characters, Roman and Tej, who still amuse the audience after 20 years.
4. Fast & Furious 6 (2013)
The movie brings back Letty and that's already enough for us to consider this part good. It also introduces new characters such as Owen Shaw and his team, giving the franchise one more unforgettable villain.
The film keeps delving into themes of family, loyalty, and redemption along with more intense and dangerous stunts and car chases that have become hallmarks of the franchise.
3. Furious 7 (2014)
The movie introduces a new threat and takes the franchise to new heights as the crew faces one of the franchise's most memorable antagonists, Deckard Shaw.
This installment also holds a special place in our hearts as a heartbreaking farewell to the late Paul Walker. It combines breathtaking action sequences with emotional depth culminating in a heartfelt send-off for both Paul and Brian.
2. Fast Five (2011)
This installment of the Fast & Furious is a standout film that shifts the franchise from street racing to heist-centered action.
This movie is the beginning of everything: the beginning of Brian and Mia's own family, Roman and Tej's iconic duo, and Dom's obsession with "La Familia." This part is a perfect example of why we are so in love with the franchise.
