Is this villain really Star Wars-worthy?

It's safe to say the season 3 premiere of Ted Lasso was long awaited by the fans of the show.

Ever since the trailer was released fans were ready to hop on and join the adventure that the next season would bring to their favorite team. Thankfully, it did not disappoint.

Season 3 is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 94%, which shows exactly how happy the viewers are.

These ratings are not easy to keep, especially when the season would mark a finale for the whole show.

However, writers seem confident with what they do, bringing some unexpected storylines and… easter eggs. At least, that's how it felt to see the circular window in Rupert's office and its slight resemblance with Death Star.

Someone in the writing room certainly loves The Galaxy Far Far Away, huh?

"Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the similarities to Palpatine's throne room…not to mention how Rupert's assistance resembled that of Wilhuff Tarkin. The subtle Star Wars references were just perfect!" Redditor topekajim said further proving the point.

Besides the more detailed things, the whole vibe of Rupert's office gives off a strong and angry villain.

Although for some the reference seems pretty clear, others are not so convinced. Some argue that the type of villain that writers tried to portray in the scene would fit other famous universes as easily as the Star Wars one.

For example, he could find himself fighting against James Bond. Others found the overall presentation of Rupert's character unnecessary epic, thinking that presenting him just as a "rich as*hole character" would be more than enough.

Either way, it seems like the scene grabbed viewers' attention enough, and Rupert's office is now memorable enough to make a certain impression.

Hopefully, Ted Lasso will continue to impress the fans in the next episodes of season 3, which airs each Wednesday on Apple TV Plus.
