Fans still can't come to terms with the finale of the beloved series.

Many viewers were hoping for a well-deserved ending for Daenerys. But their dreams did not come true.

The writers decided to change the character of the queen too drastically, although they had planned this development from the beginning.

The final season of Game of Thrones was a whirlwind of emotions and surprises. One of the biggest twists of season 8 was Daenerys Targaryen's descent into madness and her ultimate downfall.

Many fans believe that the death of Missandei, the Queen's trusted advisor and closest friend, was the catalyst for her insanity.

Missandei was a beloved character on the show, known for her wisdom, loyalty, and beauty. She was a former slave who had been freed by Dany and had become her closest confidante.

She had accompanied the Mother of Dragons on her journey from Essos to Westeros and had been at her side through all of her trials and triumphs.

In season 8, Missandei was captured by Cersei's forces and beheaded in front of Daenerys and her army. The brutal and senseless death of her friend and advisor sent the Targaryen queen over the edge.

Fans agree with this view, though some feel that the descent into madness began with Jorah's death. The loyal advisor, who was in love with the queen, was killed in the battle against the White Walkers.

Some still note that the dragon's death was a severe blow to Dany. It was difficult for the queen to deal with the death of her child.

But the general turmoil of losing loved ones, dragons, and the threat of Jon Snow's ascension to the throne has sent the fairly calm queen into berserk mode.

Dany, who has spent her life defending the poor and vulnerable, has decided to heed the final advice of Missandei, who cried out Dracarys before she died.

Missandei's beheading was a pivotal moment in the show's final season. However, many fans still disagree with this interpretation. They feel that season 8 was very poorly written.

The tumultuous events led to an incomprehensible and abrupt change in the queen's mood. Viewers point out that Daenerys would never kill so many innocent people.
