Not only is Penelope a central character in the story that will hopefully one day be told in Bridgerton's season 3, but she has always been an important supporting character. Will Nicola Coughlan Be In Doctor Who?

While it's not nearly enough to determine what's going on in the scene Nicola Coughlan is in, her appearance has fans of both shows more than excited.

While some fans believe that Coughlan would be too busy with Bridgerton to join Doctor Who as a regular, others aren't so sure. With no Millie Gibson in sight to play the 15th Doctor's companion, Ruby Sunday, some believe the actress could take over the role.

Although she'll still be needed for episodic appearances throughout Bridgerton, Coughlan won't be as busy as she was in season 3, since her character won't be in the spotlight.

Besides, even the Doctor himself, Ncuti Gatwa, was remarkably able to finish Sex Education while working on Doctor Who, so any scheduling conflicts should not affect the production as much.

Is Nicola Coughlan Doctor’s New Companion?

It is interesting to note that a year earlier, Coughlan had already mentioned Doctor Who and denied rumors that she would join the cast (via RadioTimes). Instead, she said at the Bridgerton event that she would be working with Gatwa on another project.

Whether the plans have changed, whether the actress was forced to keep her involvement with Doctor Who under wraps, or whether the video circulating on the Internet simply isn't from the Doctor Who set, we still don't know.

Either way, any involvement the actress might have with the sci-fi hit would be extremely exciting news for both Whovians ready to embrace the new era and Bridgerton fans tired of waiting with little to no content from Netflix. It's a win-win for everyone!

The only thing that is left to do is to wait for an official statement from either BBC or Disney, introducing the newest star joining the universe of Doctor Who.
