They say the whole movie is summarized in 2.5 minutes, but apparently keeping the informative balance is not as easy as it seems.

The first teaser for The Creator, an upcoming sci-fi action thriller from Gareth Edwards, the director of Godzilla ( 2014) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), has just been released, and apparently fans are loving it.

Starring John David Washington, best known for his portrayals of The Protagonist in Tenet (2020) and Ron Stallworth in BlacKkKlansman (2018), the story revolves around a future war between humans and AI and looks like "Star Wars meets The Terminator. "

But one particular problem has tainted the announcement significantly: almost the entire plot is spoiled by the teaser.

So we already know that the AI is apparently not 100% evil, most likely just fighting for survival, the main character finally understands this and will protect the robot child, going against his own comrades who want to destroy it.

At this point, the only reason to watch the movies seems to be the great visuals and action scenes, the whole story was just summarized in 2.5 minutes.

Unfortunately, this has happened to a lot of movies, from, ironically, Terminator Genisys and Star Wars: Episode III to The Invisible Man (2020) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The creators keep doing it, including major plot points in the promotional materials for some reason, and the fans get tired of it and wonder if it will ever stop.

Some even prefer to avoid the promotional material altogether these days for this very reason.

Strangely enough, the opposite happens from time to time, like with Babylon (2022) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, where many fans complained that the trailers didn't give enough information, making it hard to understand what the movie was about.

So apparently creating a trailer that gives the audience just the right amount of information is not as easy a task as it might seem at first, and fans are hoping that the creators will learn how to keep that balance.

The Creator is scheduled to be released on September 29, 2023.
