Sometimes cartoons are better off staying what they are.

Thanks to a talented artist we now have an idea how Rick and Morty would look like in real life... even though it's something that might make you lose sleep at night.

The hyperrealistic fan art that gives fans this unique opportunity has been shown on Instagram page of user nicknamed raoninery, and maybe it's yet another proof that some thing don't need a touch of real life at all.

The world of Rick and Morty, the popular adult animated series, has captivated a whole legion of fans, with its irreverent humor, peculiar characters (to say it mildly), and a grotesque depiction of the Universe.

So, an attempt on reimagining Rick and Morty in real life has just been a question of time.

Artist @raoninery shows off Rick and Morty in a hyperrealistic manner, but with distinctive appearance traits that make the characters recognizable at first glance.

Rick, the alcoholic old man and scientific genius, is depicted with his classic hair in disarray. Morty in turn is shown with his enormous eyes wide open.

While the images might appear disturbing at first to some, it only speaks to the artist's painstaking attention to detail. Skin, hair, eyes, everything is done impeccably. The characters look almost too real.

It's also amazing how the artist managed to capture the personalities of both characters, with their eyes telling a life story. We can see the laid-back attitude of Rick and painful vulnerability in Morty.

Rick and Morty are not the only iconic animated characters re-imagined by the artist.

The account is full of hyperrealistic and vivid depictions of other characters and personalities, from The Office 's Dwight Schrute to Gorillaz.

While the fans wait for Rick and Morty's next season, it might be fun to imagine how would a live-action feature look, that could have had both characters looking like raoninery's art. Or, perhaps, it's better not to.
