Walton Goggins promises that Fallout Season 2 will answer many questions S1 didn’t have the time to tackle.

From its actors to the franchise’s old-school fans, everyone was surprised and delighted by just how sensationally Prime Video ’s Fallout blew up. The new post-apocalyptic show managed to please the OG video game fans as well as attract millions of new viewers, building upon the pre-existing world and making it more vibrant, lively, and prominent than ever before.

Fallout was renewed for Season 2 just a couple of days after its premiere, and we’re very excited to learn more about it… Thankfully, Walton Goggins is willing to share!

The Ghoul Star Says S1 Left Many Doors Open

Fallout Season 1 might have felt overwhelmingly massive for new Vault Dwellers, but as OG fans, we see just how much it didn’t cover. Don’t get us wrong: it didn’t need to as it followed one particular story — and yet, there’s much more still to show than what we’ve already seen. Walton Goggins claims that the crew all realize it, too.

“The first season really unpacked very little. You know, there was really very little they explored even though it feels big. Because the game itself is hundreds, a thousand hours, but <...> in this story that we’re telling, there’s so many questions left unanswered,” the Ghoul star shared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

Thankfully, Jonathan Nolan’s team is full of ideas, as the actor teased, and there are quite a few exciting directions the show could go.

Unfortunately, it’s not rare for showrunners to come up with a brilliant Season 1 idea and remain clueless about what to do next. Many initially great shows died off like that. Fortunately, this will not be the case with Fallout: according to the Cooper Howard star, the show’s creators have many ideas and a great plan for Season 2.

“They know exactly what they’re doing. So yeah, I think they have this second part of the journey really kind of beated out. <...> [There are many] possible scenarios that I would like to see kind of play out. Because we have to earn every emotional moment that we have. Just like the humor, it’s all situational. I think they see far into the future,” Goggins added.

Have we mentioned that we’re excited about Fallout Season 2? Our anticipation only strengthened after Goggins’ statement. We’re heading straight into New Vegas (or rather, its remains) and we can’t wait to see the story that plays out there.
