Fallout but in Space? There’s Only One Way to Satisfy That Very Specific Hunger (& It’s NOT Starfield)
If you’ve always felt something was missing from Fallout, imagine the same thing but set in space with you traveling from planet to planet. That’s what we offer you!
The Fallout franchise has always been widely beloved and recognized, but now, it’s stronger than ever thanks to Prime Video ’s sensational TV show. With more and more people flocking to the community and trying the original games for the first time, there are bound to be some of you who loved the execution but would have preferred to see stars in their shack’s windows instead of the Wasteland.
Let us tell you that you’re in luck, because some of the Fallout developers felt the same way and created an experience tailor-made for people like you and us!
The Outer Worlds Is Fallout in Space
Being able to roam around freely, meet new and quirky characters, choose sides in ridiculous faction conflicts, witness drama and comedy firsthand, all the while being the fatemaker of entire settlements and small nations and potentially opposing evil and dangerous corporations — those are the things that hook people on Fallout.
Those same things only get better when there’s no gravity.
The Outer Worlds is a 2019 video game from Obsidian Entertainment — the very guys who made Fallout: New Vegas, the best game in the franchise. To no one’s surprise, The Outer World quickly got dubbed as “Fallout in space,” taking the well-familiar components of a balanced dramedy experience and launching them ad astra, where the laws are different but the roleplaying opportunities are all the same.
The Outer Worlds Is Worth Every Penny
Many Fallout fans missed the writing and quirkiness of New Vegas greatly after Obsidian stopped working on the franchise; well, that’s easily fixed by The Outer Worlds. This amazing sci-fi RPG was nominated for countless awards in 2019, including BAFTA, Golden Trailer, The Game Awards, and NAVGTR (and it actually won in all five nominations in the latter, just saying).
The Outer Worlds will likely surprise you with some familiar voices, but it will be a pleasant surprise. Many celebrated actors and voice actors appeared in this game, including Jack Ryan’s Victoria Sanchez and Attack on Titan ’s Ashly Burch, just to name a few. This adventure won’t be long, but it will definitely be memorable.
So as we were saying, if you just watched and played Fallout and loved it, The Outer World should totally be your next destination. And if you thought that Fallout in space would have been great, we believe you’re already downloading it as you read this.
