Fallout and House of the Dragon Stars Join Forces in a New Horror Comedy
Now that’s what we call a total change of scenery. From ghouls and dragonriders to killer squirrels!
Summary:
- The Phantom of the Open director Craig Roberts is currently developing a new horror comedy The Scurry.
- Fallout ’s Ella Purnell and House of the Dragon ’s Rhys Ifans will play the main characters in the upcoming flick.
- Another HotD star, Olivia Cooke had to opt out of The Scurry due to scheduling conflicts despite initial agreement.
Both House of the Dragon and Fallout immediately became international hits, and they share quite a few similarities between them — they both throw immensely talented but ultimately underrated actors into increasingly dangerous situations in beloved fictional worlds that were once very niche. Speaking of HotD and Fallout’s stars, though, these series brought many of them the recognition they deserved.
And now, they’re ready to tackle their next big challenge: killer squirrels. What?
New Horror Comedy Stars Talents from Iconic Shows
As recently reported by Screen Daily, director Craig Roberts is currently working on a new project: a horror comedy movie with an utterly bizarre premise. In The Scurry, a band of deranged killer squirrels decides to seek revenge on the visitors and staff of a nearby eco-café, leading the mortified and terrified humans to defend themselves.
For his upcoming flick, Roberts booked two stars from the biggest sensations of the past two years. Fallout’s Ella Purnell (Lucy MacLean) and House of the Dragon’s Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower) will lead the horror comedy as a parking attendant and a pest controller, respectively. Another HotD star, Olivia Cooke, was supposed to star in The Scurry but had to opt out due to scheduling conflicts.
The Scurry Got a Solid Aspiring Team Together
The killer rodent-fueled horror comedy will become Craig Roberts’ fourth directorial outing, with the previous ones having turned out quite successful. Roberts is primarily known for his latest film, 2021’s sport comedy The Phantom of the Open which raked up 86 and 89% Critic and Audience Scores on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively, and a strong 7/10 on IMDb to support the claim.
According to reports, The Scurry will be scripted by Tim Telling, a writer known for his work on TV shows The Mash report and Late Night Mash. With a solid aspiring team like that complimented by the sheer star power of Ella Purnell and Rhys Ifans, we’re expecting a lot from the upcoming horror comedy with a ridiculous premise, and we hope it won’t disappoint.
