Reddit is home to what is undoubtedly one of the biggest and geekiest communities in the entire world.

Every day, Reddit users create thousands of new threads in which they talk about their latest obsessions.

So we decided to delve deep into the Harry Potter subreddit to find out which movie people think is the best and which is the worst, and here's our list!

Goblet of fire

The worst movie of the franchise that deviated too much from its source material and main plot to feature more fanservice.

Most of the scenes are incredibly rushed, and the tone is all over the place. This movie made one of the best spectacles in the wizarding world, the Triwizard Tournament, incredibly boring to watch!

And even the most dramatic moment, the resurrection of Voldemort, is underwhelming because of Ralph Fiennes' overacting.

This movie also fell short of what the previous three films offered.

Order of the Phoenix

Yates is the least-liked director of the franchise, and this movie is a good reason for that. Many fans dislike this movie's color grading.

All the shots seem too blue and boring. The screenwriters also did not include most of the interesting moments from the book, which only made the situation worse.

Sirus' death was underwhelming, the movie itself was too short (despite being based on the lengthiest book in the series) and had no action scenes up to the last second.

Many fans agree that while this movie was still enjoyable, it seemed to lack the magic of the previous four films.

Half-blood prince

Once again, this film has strayed too far from its source material.

Huge chunks of the plot have been cut and even replaced with original material, such as the awful, illogical scene of the attack on Burrow, which doesn't happen in the book.

The only significant event in this film is the death of Dumbledore. Still, the Half-blood prince was interesting enough to keep some redditors engrossed.

Deathly hallows part 1

Redditors agree that this movie a little too long and lacks truly memorable moments. However, Yates used it to his advantage in Part 2.

He also did a good job of making the Horcrux seem like a real threat. It was also the only movie in which it seemed like the characters had a real chance to fail; it showed pretty well how helpless and unfortunate their situation was.

Chamber of secrets

While it doesn't have the same charm as Sorcerer's Stone, this film still has something to offer. This is the only Harry Potter movie that does mystery fairly well.

Contrary to Half-Blood Prince, where the mystery elements were almost completely disregarded, this movie knew how to add some dramatic tension to the plot.

Redditors didn't find the story, music, action, and acting to be that bad. Furthermore, this film contains some of the finest CGI in the entire series.

Deathly hallows part 2

An overall satisfactory conclusion of the story. The action is fast-paced, and it never becomes dull. The last battle is epic and the cinematography is a lot better than in the previous Yates' films.

But many redditors agree that the Horcruxes were destroyed too quickly and the wands… well, the whole wands plot was lame, but we have to blame JKR for that.

Sorcerer's stone

Anyone who sees this legendary masterpiece will be brought to tears. Even though it is a bit too naive and kid-friendly, that is what draws viewers in.

This movie is full of memorable scenes. The trio of main characters, the cast, the atmosphere, the really good CGI all make this film one of the best in the franchise.

In addition, redditors believe that Richard Harris outperforms Michael Gambon as Dumbledore.

Prisoner of Azkaban

This movie is so close to being flawless that its only flaw is the impact it has on other movies.

Despite Voldemort not being present, this movie is filled with tension because of Sirius Black's threat and amazingly looking Dementors (why did they change their designs for Order of the Phoenix?).

Even the dullest scenes are made more interesting by the excellent cinematography. This is a case of quality over quantity.

Even though this movie doesn't have as many memorable scenes as Sorcerer's Stone, who could ever forget Harry and Lupin 's discussion on the bridge, the flight on Buckbeak, or perhaps the best scene in the entire franchise, Harry's Expecto Patronum?

After Columbus left, Cuaron took his place, and he did a terrific job, except that he poorly cast Michael Gambon as Dumbledore.

Even though redditors adore Columbus, they consider Cuaron the best director and the Prisoner of Azkaban the best movie of the franchise. Cuaron should have made more Harry Potter movies!
