Euphoria Season 3 Finally Receives a Much-Awaited Update from Sydney Sweeney
Repeatedly delayed hit series is finally teased by its star to begin filming soon.
Summary:
- Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney dropped a hint that shooting of the anticipated third season will begin soon, not revealing any further details.
- It had numerous delays caused by the Hollywood strikes and its main actors’ busy schedules, as they are in high demand nowadays.
Euphoria, being one of the most hyped HBO projects of the last decade, is now considered the most anticipated show among all teenage dramas, representing high school students of different identities and inclinations. The first season, released in 2019, has become an international success and has received lots of accolades and, moreover, a possibility to renew the show for the second season in early 2022.
Having two years already passed, fans aren’t stopping waiting for the continuation and building theories about characters’ fate, as the last episodes presented quite an open ending. Luckily, they were finally given a hope to see the third season in 2025.
In a recent interview after the SXSW festival, Sydney Sweeney, the actress who portrayed Cassie in the HBO teen show, hinted that filming of Season 3 is just about to begin, saying she would “go into Euphoria” after her roles in Anyone but You and Immaculate. Not revealing any further details about the next season, she is also adding she feels “like home” returning to the series, which brought her star status.
The reasons for such a time gap between the release of the second season and shooting the third one are quite obvious. First of all, there has been a delay caused by the 2023 Hollywood dual strikes, and, secondly, Euphoria’s actors, who have become one of the most high-demand young actors in the whole industry, had extremely busy schedules.
Since airing the last episodes of the show, its main stars have participated in a number of hit movie projects of huge production. Zendaya ( Euphoria’s Rue) was mainly involved in filming of the Dune franchise, Jacob Elordi (Nate) has become the Hollywood’s main sex symbol, starring in Saltburn and Priscilla, as well as Hunter Schafer (Jules), today’s fashion and LGBT icon, who participated in the prequel to The Hunger Games movies.
Given the presumable timing of Season 3’s filming, one issue clearly arises: actors, playing teens, are getting older, now reaching their mid-20s. Hopefully, it can be solved by a time jump in the next season, while another tragic fact is obviously indissoluble, as the cast lost Angus Cloud (Fez), who died last summer from a drug overdose.
Hoping Euphoria’s crew can handle all the mentioned circumstances, let’s wait for other S03 updates, while the first two seasons are available on HBO, Hulu and Prime.
