Ethan Hawke Just Revealed His Favorite MCU Performance, And It's Not Oscar Isaac
Ethan Hawke seems to have a rather original choice for the best role in the MCU.
Turning down the popular roles of Robert Downey Jr. 's Iron Man and Oscar Isaac 's Moon Knight, the actor decided to support Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin.
Ethan Hawke is a respected actor known for his Oscar-nominated roles in 'Training Day' and 'Boyhood', so his role as supervillain Arthur Harrow in the Marvel series 'Moon Knight' was greatly appreciated by many fans of the franchise. By creating his character from the ground up, Hawke managed to develop a believable and terrifying villain worthy of the highest praise.
But the actor doesn't seem to want to call himself the greatest actor in the MCU ( although, some fans may disagree), preferring to give that honor to Vincent D'Onofrio. During a Q&A event, the actor talked about his love for the D'Onofrio's character, which greatly influenced his own work on Arthur Harrow.
"It would be very easy to say Robert Downey, because that was a high-water mark for me. But in truth, I do think I have to give a shoutout to Vincent D'Onofrio as Fisk. That is a great character portrait. That's a great performance, and when I took this job, I was aiming at him," Hawke said.
Kingpin, played by D'Onofrio, was first introduced in the Netflix series 'Daredevil ' and quickly became a fan favorite. Recently, in Disney+ 's 'Hawkeye ', Kingpin was officially introduced as the MCU character, so fans (including Hawke) should get ready for more action from the great actor.
Fans completely agree that Vincent D'Onofrio is the greatest performer in the MCU, praising his undeniable charisma on Reddit.
