In 2023, the world got a movie that ended up being named one of the best movies of the year and earning lots of awards. The name is Poor Things, the film created by Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone, who also played the leading role in the movie.

Mind you, Poor Things is ready to give Barbie and Oppenheimer a run for their money at the upcoming Oscars 2024 ceremony, enjoying 11 nominations.

The central story of the film is the fantastical creation of a young woman named Bella Baxter (Stone’s character) by a brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter. The events take place in Victorian London under very unlikely conditions.

The thing is, Bella committed suicide while she was pregnant, and through some sort of scientific magic, Dr. Godwin Baxter replaced the woman's brain with that of her unborn fetus, resulting in her having an infant's mind.

Every viewer was amazed by the brilliant performance that Emma Stone gave in the movie, the way she portrayed a wild woman-child is definitely out of this world and once again shows her ability to adapt to any role.
