Emma Stone’s Iconic Musical Movie With 91% Tomatometer Is Already on Netflix
Another day of sun may be on the way for the streaming’s viewers.
It’s probably been tough several years of wait for the fans, but Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling ’s musical masterpiece La La Land has finally arrived on Netflix as the streaming quietly added the high-rated flick to its collection on June 1.
Initially released back in 2016, the romcom with a not-so-happy (yet very realistic) ending earned numerous accolades, cementing its status as one of the best musical and romantic films of all time, and now the movie’s fans have one more incentive to rewatch it for the millionth time.
What Is La La Land About?
Set in modern-day Los Angeles, La La Land follows two young artists whose completely different paths cross during an occasional encounter in a restaurant. Mia, portrayed by Emma Stone, is a young aspiring actress who seeks any minor opportunity to enter Hollywood’s lavish lifestyle, while Sebastian, played by Ryan Gosling, is desperate to find a way to make his biggest dream come true and open his own jazz club.
After starting their relationship on a bad note, Mia and Sebastian are brought closer to each other as they realize that they’re united by aspiring for something they really love doing in life.
As both, guided by each other’s support, start moving towards their biggest goals, their feelings for each other turn out to be something that may become a big obstacle to the characters’ career achievements.
Upon its theatrical release in 2016, La La Land was quick to get all the commercial and critical acclaim possible, grossing $472 million against the initial budget of only $30 million and landing impressive scores of 91% and 81% from critics and viewers respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.
Damien Chazelle’s movie eventually swept the 2017 awards season, taking home numerous prestigious awards, including six Academy Awards with one of them making Chazelle the youngest director in history to receive the award for Best Director.
La La Land can now be streamed on Netflix worldwide.
