Her last joint project with Tom Cruise left her with permanent back problems, but despite that, Emily Blunt is willing to make a sequel (and add to her health issues).

For oh so many aspiring actors, working with Tom Cruise would be a dream come true. Emily Blunt had that experience already (granted that she’s by no means an aspiring actress these days), and she loved every second of it. The movie she made with Cruise is called Edge of Tomorrow, and it’s brilliant — even though often overlooked.

Emily Blunt has many fond memories of filming Edge of Tomorrow, and while the movie itself turned out great, and the on-set work allowed her to become friends with the legendary action actor, there were some drawbacks to this collaboration, too. For one, Emily was left with permanent back pain because of her exo- suit in the movie.

The actress doesn’t miss a chance to remind the world that it was all Tom Cruise’s fault… jokingly, of course.

“No, I don't forget. No, my back still tweaks out on me sometimes. You know, I'll like, turn funny in the car, and I'll just be like, 'Tom Cruise!’” Blunt laughs.

Apparently, her costumes in Edge of Tomorrow were causing Blunt to experience utter discomfort most of the time. One time, she even broke down on the set, and Cruise, a gentleman that he is, hurried to provide a proper reaction.

“I just started to cry, I said, ‘I’m feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot.’ [Tom] just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p*ssy, OK?’ recalls the actress.

While it doesn’t sound too considerate, at the time, it made Emily laugh, and the whole 85-pound-costume ordeal went on easier from that moment. Now, despite her back pains still haunting her, Blunt is willing to make a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow.

“There was [a script] that Doug kind of slithered over to me… I would love to make it a reality, but I just don’t know when, or how, or how many Mission: Impossibles does [Tom] need?” Shared the actress, making a quip at Cruise for focusing on his most iconic franchise.

Even though Edge of Tomorrow didn’t do too well back in the day, it’s a really well-made action movie that’s more than entertaining to watch, and perhaps, a sequel might finally bring it the recognition it deserves…hopefully, without causing any more health issues to Emily Blunt, too.
