Don't get us wrong: Emilia Clarke is an amazing actress. The thing is, franchises really don't work for her as by far, she was part of three major flops in a row.

Launched into international stardom thanks to her brilliant performance in Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke deserves every bit of fame she got. She is a great actress, a wholesome human being, and one of the most beautiful women in the industry — after GoT, it seemed inevitable that her career was going to reach new heights soon.

But that was because, at the time, no one knew about Clarke's curse.

We're joking, of course, but the situation itself is pretty ridiculous. After playing Daenerys Targaryen, Emilia became wanted by many major franchises as her talent got recognized, and the actress was happy to participate in various big-name projects and meet new people. However, none of those projects really worked out.

Every big franchise project Clarke became part of didn't turn out too well. Starting from Terminator Genisys (didn't flop but had terrible reviews and a 26% score on Rotten Tomatoes), the trend began. After Terminator, Emilia joined the Star Wars franchise in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which didn't flop but was also received rather cooly by the fans.

Secret Invasion gave Emilia Clarke the chance to join the MCU which she excitedly took. Despite having a lot of fun on the set and clearly putting up a great performance, Clarke's role was too side-ish to let her actually shine, even though her character was central to the plot. The writers didn't give her enough screen time.

But Emilia's screen time is far from the greatest tragedy: this title belongs to the fact that Secret Invasion was a terrible show in general. Despite an amazing and intriguing premise, this mini-series is largely hated by the fans who expected way more — and the last episode of SI became the worst-rated Marvel entry ever.

Secret Invasion boasted the combined production budget of this summer's main movie hits, Oppenheimer and Barbie, but admittedly, the money was wasted on the unnecessarily overwhelming quantity of CGI. Those $200M are lost forever, folks, and all that came out of them was a 13% score for the finale on Rotten Tomatoes.

At this point, it's not that hard to believe that Emilia Clarke is cursed — or at least, that she's really just not a franchise player. We'll be the first ones to cheer when the actress's new project makes waves, but so far, whenever she's part of a big franchise, things just really don't work out for Emilia.
