Elsbeth Star Heartbroken by This CBS Show’s Cancellation Just Like You Are
CBS’ quirky detective showed some sympathy for the fellow series.
Nearly a month after the cancellation news broke, nobody seems to be fine about NCIS: Hawai’i’s unenviable fate. Despite relatively good ratings and lots of love from NCIS’ fans, the show was scrapped after 3 seasons, the last of which left the viewers with a major cliffhanger that might never receive its explanation.
While some especially devoted fans are doing their best to confront CBS and force the network into bringing the series back, the cast seems to have reconciled with the news, saying goodbye to the show on their social media.
One of NCIS: Hawai’i’s actors has recently taken to Instagram to share his thoughts about the beloved series, but there’s another reason why the post has drawn so much attention.
Amid all the fuss concerning the cancellation, Ernie Malik’s actor Jason Antoon used his Instagram account to commemorate the good times he had while filming the series.
Antoon posted a picture of himself on NCIS: Hawai’i’s set captioning it with “That’s all folks! Mahalo for the good times! Ernie’s going back to his lair - you can find him there”, and the actor’s publication was quick to garner his former colleagues' responses.
Jane Tennant’s actress Vanessa Lachey pretended like nothing bad had ever happened leaving a comment that said “I Love You. And I will be down there in 15 mins with manapua and cougar juice!”. Tori Anderson, who in the show portrayed FBI agent Kate Whistler, didn’t stay aside either, commenting “Well this is just sad. Meet ya there dude!”.
Former co-stars’ support for each other amidst the abrupt cancellation of the fan-favorite series is indeed a very heart-warming moment that the social media users got to witness, but it all became even better when another CBS show’s star intervened.
Turns out that Elsbeth ’s leading actress Carrie Preston may also be considered one of NCIS: Hawai’i’s fans as she reached out to her network peers leaving a red heart emoji in the post’s comment section.
Currently being one of CBS’ most successful shows to run, Elsbeth had more luck than NCIS: Hawai’i as the former was renewed for a second season at the same time when the latter was officially scrapped.
Elsbeth’s season 1 finale is set to premiere tonight on CBS.
