Elizabeth Olsen's New Wanda Update Has Fans Lowkey Worried About Scarlet Witch's Future
Are we even going to see Scarlet Witch again?
Elizabeth Olsen made her debut as Wanda Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Olsen's performance stood out, and has been completely spot on ever since.
She had an opportunity to shine in her solo Disney Plus TV series WandaWision. Last time we saw Olsen as Wanda in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The movie received mixed reaction, but Scarlet Witch as an antagonist was indeed fascinating.
However, the character has fallen victim to poor writing, and Olsen herself added some criticism to the film. Nevertheless, fans are still excited to see Olsen in the MCU again.
In Variety's special Actors on Actors feature, Elizabeth Olsen was asked by Meghann Fahy if she would miss playing Wanda.
Olsen said that she would not miss Wanda, arguing that she has been portraying the character for almost 10 years.
However, she absolutely loved the experience. Olsen claims that even if she was fired from Marvel, she would still feel proud of what they did.
She also shared her eagerness to explore other films and characters, hinting at an exciting new chapter in her acting career.
As an artist, Elizabeth Olsen's desire to explore new cinematic avenues and dive into fresh characters is understandable.
Her remark about loading up "other films and characters" indicates her eagerness to broaden her acting repertoire beyond the Marvel universe.
We have to give it to Olsen for being absolutely honest in her response, but her heartfelt statement got fans feeling a bit upset. Does it mean we are not going to see Olsen in the MCU's future projects?
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness we saw the demise of Scarlet Witch, but did she really die? No one knows for sure.
If Marvel really needs or wants to revive a character, it won't be a huge problem, especially given the popularity of Wanda.
However, there is an intriguing trend going on. A few Marvel stars have recently stated something along the same lines as Olsen, including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, and Dave Batista.
It seems like these actors are getting tired of playing the same characters for years and always being associated with them.
