How many seasons is just enough for a successful series? And how to say "when" on time?

Every show reaches a point where it "jumps the shark," whether the showrunners want it to or not. This moment is usually not predicted, but somehow for fans this scene or episode is the obvious marker where everything goes wrong.

Let's say you want someone to enjoy your favorite show Grey's Anatomy, now in its 19th season, for the first time.

When should the potential viewer stop watching in order to enjoy it and not be a witness to the show's decline in quality?

Reddit has a lot of different opinions on this. Some fans think it should be season 4. But that's only for those whose goal in watching is to see a happily ever after.

In the season finale, not everything is perfect, but Meredith and Derek are finally in a good place.

But there are far more interesting ideas than ditching 15 seasons and tons of professional work. For example, to drop the show at the end of season 11.

A lot of stories reached their logical end by then, and those that didn't – well, open-ended finales are also a thing nowadays. But for the most part, fans were happy to see the season end with Meredith somehow... being happy?

"Derek dies, which I found extremely sad, but the end of the season shows a glimpse into Meredith trying to be happy without him. I think it was key in showing that she was about more than just her relationship with him.

At the end of the series finale, Meredith connects with her sisters, Maggie and Amelia, out on the balcony, and they head inside to dance at Catherine and Richard's wedding. The way the episode fades at the end, showing a still of only Meredith, felt like it definitely could have been the end," Reddit user said.

Sounds great, doesn't it?

But still there are true fans that are absolutely confident that you should always watch it till the end.

"They would miss so many amazing episodes, love stories, and characters. I honestly wouldn't tell someone to stop watching. I think the show ebbs and flows but the journey and seeing so many characters grow and develop is pretty special," Reddit user Shayv82 said.

For those who are waiting till the end to stop watching the show, the next episode airs on March 24 on ABC.
