Especially now…

General Hospital is a soap opera focusing on so many characters at once it is hard to actually keep following each of the stories at the center of it. However, some characters still manage to generate hatred in the hearts of many viewers. But is it really fair?

For example, one of the characters who literally made it impossible to feel bad for him is Michael. The son of the late A.J. Quartermaine and his ex-wife Carly Spencer, and the adoptive son of mob boss Sonny Corinthos, he first appeared on screen in 1997.

For a long time he has been some sort of a fan favorite, but recently it seems that the writers made his character go through so many cringeworthy storylines it’s impossible to root for him anymore.

“Michael's an interesting character because he was the center of a lot of storylines when he was a kid and he was probably at his best when Dylan Cash played him. When they aged him up, they really didn't know what direction they wanted to go with him and it shows. His best stuff as an adult was the AJ storyline and I kinda hope they can revisit and bring that back someday,” Redditor GarlVinland4Astrea said.

He is no longer welcome in the show for many reasons. One of them is the fact that his romantic storylines, which are so appreciated by the viewers, are all so boring that it's impossible to follow them. He always seems to water down the women he's with and they become instantly dull.

However, many fans seem to think that he is actually a worthy character whose storylines are perfect for a soap opera because he is one of the most dramatic characters. Well, maybe it's time to give up the hate and treat him like the drama queen he is?

General Hospital is available to stream on Hulu.
