Does Crazy American from Daryl Dixon E2 Look Familiar? Here's Where You Could See Him
RJ Gaines used to be none other than Thomas Shelby's own uncle.
If you've been keeping up with The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, you’ve probably watched its latest episode. In the second episode, you might have noticed a familiar face in the latest episode.
The crazy American living in a castle, RJ Gaines, surely caught your attention. Portrayed as the main antagonist in the episode Alouette, RJ is seen as a monstrous figure, especially by the children at École Maternelle Simone Veil. The orphans call him La Tarasque, which is a French mythological creature.
He swiped almost all the supplies from a nearby town. When he encounters Daryl, we find out he is American too, but a crazy one. Unfortunately for him, he dies in the episode, devoured by walkers. However, it looks like he deserved it, because he killed at least one of the orphans.
While it was a one-episode baddie, he surely is a memorable one. But doesn’t RJ Gaines look familiar to you?
Well, if you watched Peaky Blinders, you already know the answer. Peaky Blinders, a crime drama that's been praised for being one of the best in its genre, tells the story of the Shelby family, with the amazing Cillian Murphy giving an outstanding performance as Tommy Shelby.
The same actor who portrayed RJ Gaines, Ned Dennehy, had a recurring role in Peaky Blinders. Dennehy portrayed Uncle Charlie, as he's affectionately known, who is the non-biological uncle to the Shelby siblings.
Working closely with Thomas Shelby, Charlie is deeply involved in the family's business, from handling shipments to caring for horses. He's a Romani Gypsy, tough as nails, and has a penchant for the less-than-legal side of things.
If you're a fan of the Amazon series Good Omens, you could also see Ned Dennehy. He took on the role of Hastur, a Duke of Hell. Unlike the tech-savvy demons of today, Hastur is old-school; he doesn't even know what a computer is.
How many surprises does TWD: Daryl Dixon have in store for us? Only time will tell. Next episode of the spinoff will air on September 24 on AMC and AMC+.
