This show proves that it does not take much for a documentary to reach a wider audience.

The documentary genre is not the most popular of genres, with a significant number of people finding them rather boring, which is completely understandable as studying history is not everyone's cup of tea.

But this particular TV series has managed to make it extremely entertaining even for those who are far from being fans of the genre.

Prehistoric Planet, a British-American nature documentary TV series released in 2022, has somehow found its way into the hearts of a wider audience, being just as fun and entertaining as the Jurassic Park movies, and has just aired the first episode of its second season.

It follows in the footsteps of such legendary nature documentaries as Walking with Dinosaurs (1999) and Planet Dinosaur (2011), which introduced at least a couple of generations of viewers to the subject.

It shows dinosaurs recreated with the use of CGI, narrated by the legendary David Attenborough, who has narrated a number of great documentaries, such as the Life series.

And such a simple formula is apparently all that is needed to earn the love of countless viewers.

Fans are thrilled to have this great series back for a second season and are eager to see what the creators have in store for them, with some even saying that Prehistoric Planet was THE show to try out Apple TV Plus in the first place.

While not everyone was expecting much from the show at first, it seems to have been well worth their time, with fans unanimously praising the visual effects, cinematography, and a great soundtrack by the renowned Hans Zimmer.

Prehistoric Planet proves the simple rule of "if it works, don't break it" and holds its own against other recent documentaries. Even if you're not usually into this kind of genre, it might be worth checking out.

The first episode of the second season premiered on May 22, 2023.
