Do We Need Another Season Of Russian Doll Since We Have Poker Face Now?
Fans love Natasha Lyonne, so let's get it out of the way, shall we?
Her two most noticeable projects of recently are Russian Doll (two seasons available on Netflix ) and Poker Face (season 1 available on Peacock ).
She also had this blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in The Glass Onion, created by Rian Johnson, the man who's behind Poker Face too.
The latter is an engaging reverse mystery series (remember Columbo, which had the same premise?) where we know the perpetrator of the episode from the very beginning of it.
While Lyonne is brilliant in both sci-fi drama Russian Doll and the mystery series that is Poker Face, an argument might be raised that having such long hiatuses between Russian Doll seasons (3 whole years between season 1 and season 2!) and considering the current hype of Poker Face, it might render possible RD Season 3 quite unnecessary.
Natasha Lyonne is not only the star, but also the director, writer and co-creator of Russian Doll.
She has recently mentioned a possibility of Russian Doll season 3 at least twice in various interviews, which would suggest she's just making for the timing's sake.
However, it had fans guessing whether she is double campaigning for Poker Face and Russian Doll at the same time. Considering the moment, it would not be a terrible idea on her part.
It's worth mentioning that Netflix has yet to renew Russian Doll for a third season and there is literally nothing we know about the prospects of more of Nadia Vulvokov's time-related shenanigans.
There is however an idea just floating out there: If season 1 of Russian Doll dealt with the Present (the time-loop thing), season 2 sent the heroine to the Past, might it be that season 3 will have her appear in the Future of sorts?
Fans perhaps will have to just hold that thought for the time being as Peacock has just renewed Poker Face for a second season.
That poses a very real chance of jeopardizing the Russian Doll season 3 future due to imminent scheduling conflicts.
While we wait for any news to pop up, nothing stops us from binging Russian Doll on Netflix, Poker Face on Peacock.
