Do we have a prime suspect?

Yes, season 14 will be the swan song of Blue Bloods, and yes, we are devastated to learn that.

However, before we dive into the world of the Reagan family one last time, it would be helpful to treat ourselves to some other great police flicks this December.

Here are seven of them we have on our radars.

1. Unbelievable (Netflix )

This one-season crime drama is sure to have you on the edge of your seat as it delves into the events no one, as you can see from the title, believed. Two police detectives, Toni Collette’s Rasmussen and Merritt Weaver’s Duvall, have to do their best to find a serial rapist who has been hunting down women in two countries. In order to seek justice, the two detectives have to become better versions of themselves as well.

2. Tom Clansy’s Jack Ryan (Prime Video )

If you wonder what it would be like for a white collar CIA analyst to be thrown into the field to investigate suspicious bank transfers, Jack Ryan on Prime Video is your pick. Starring John Krasinski, the show may or may not have you reconsider about being a crime investigator who works outside of the secure bubble of his desk – if you ever had such a dream.

3. The Sinner (Netflix)

This Netflix show is based on Petra Hammesfahr's novel of the same name. An anthology series, The Sinner has four seasons full of non-straightforward crimes, ambiguous motives, and unusual suspects – and Bill Pullman’s Detective Harry Ambrose is a police officer who has to solve them all. Fourth season was the show’s final, so you won’t be stuck out there hoping for a renewal… unlike Blue Bloods fans.

4. Line of Duty (Prime Video)

This British police procedural might as well be your next Blue Bloods fix. The main character, DS Steve Arnott, gets transferred to a controversial anti-corruption unit after vehemently refusing to cover up his own team’s unlawful shooting. That’s some strong Danny Reagan energy already, huh? There are six seasons, all available on Prime Video for streaming.

5. NYPD Blue (Prime Video)

Next Prime Video hit is a true classic: NYPD Blue, which aired from 1993 to 2005. It’s exactly what you want from a police procedural: homicide investigations mixed with some local precinct drama. And there are 12 seasons, which might be just enough to fill that Blue Bloods-shaped hole in your heart.

6. The Blacklist ( Netflix)

What’s better than a former criminal who hunts down his ex-colleagues to make up for his dark past? Netflix’s The Blacklist, centered around Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington, is exactly about that. You get ten seasons of tense drama spiced up with shadowy crimes – on the condition you’re ready to say goodbye to the show after the tenth chapter, because even its main star, James Spader, agreed that there was nowhere for the story to evolve to continue the series.

7. Prime Suspect 1973 (Prime Video)

This one is a one-season police flick about a woman who dares to think she’s a worthy officer – of course, she immediately faces a wave of sexism. Well, watch the rookie Jane Tennison gracefully proving her haters wrong by solving complicated murders. However, do keep in mind that there are no plans to renew the show for more seasons – so getting attached may prove dangerous.
