Did Kaley and Johnny's Friendship Survive the End of Big Bang Theory?
Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki may have arguably been one of, if not the most loved couple on The Big Bang Theory.
They were both a part of the show from the very first episode and played fun, aspiring actress Penny and geeky, quirky physicist Leonard, who lived in the apartment next door to her.
As much as fans loved the two characters on their own, they were ecstatic when a relationship began to blossom between the two. The couple navigated ups and downs in their careers, relationship, and friendships and just grew stronger, eventually tying the knot in the ninth season
The Big Bang Theory came to a heartfelt but bittersweet end in season 12 as the friend group that become so familiar to fans gathered for the last time. Fans couldn't help but want to hold onto their favorite characters that had been built up over seasons on the show.
One of the happiest endings in fans' minds would have been if Penny and Leonard ended up together in real life. Little did they know, the pair had actually begun a romantic relationship whilst filming the show, but it came to an end in 2009 after nearly 2 years as the couple mutually decided they could not carry on keeping their relationship a secret for the sake of their characters as it was doing them more harm than good.
So, after years of filming together and a short romance, what is the relationship between the two today?
Fans will be happy to know that even after the show ended and everyone seemed to go their separate ways, Kaley and Johnny just got closer. Although Kaley describes a bit of awkwardness between the two following their breakup in 2009, the pair managed to keep it friendly and professional and even described themselves as work spouses.
They continued to grow closer as friends, with Johnny sitting at Kaley's first wedding to Ryan Sweeting with the biggest smile on his face, an example of their true and wholesome friendship.
Today, the pair remain close, even best friends, and although fans hoped that they would get together again after Kaley divorced from her first husband, Johnny proved himself again to be a good friend after becoming close with her new husband. It seems that despite their history and any obstacles that may have stood in their way Kaley and Johnny are a package deal of the best kind with a friendship like no other, not many people can say they are close with their ex, but these co-stars have a bond that seems to be unbreakable to this day.
