Deadpool Might Kill Kang the Conqueror in His Solo Movie to Rid the MCU of Majors
The Deadpool 3 teaser revealed that the Merc with the Mouth had sneaked his way into the MCU already, and now it’s possible for him to kill Kang in his solo movie.
Summary:
- The Jonathan Majors controversy landed Marvel in a tough spot, considering the actor portrays the MCU ’s next Big Bad.
- In the recent Deadpool 3 teaser, we saw the Merc with a Mouth get abducted by the TVA, meaning he’s now in the MCU.
- Deadpool has the perfect opportunity to “accidentally” kill off Kang the Conqueror prematurely, ridding the MCU of Majors.
The MCU found itself in a tough spot amid the Jonathan Majors controversy: the actor became toxic right when the entire franchise set up his grand entrance as the new primary villain. Even Marvel execs considered their franchise “truly f*cked” because of that, and fans kept coming up with ways to avoid integrating Kang the Conqueror into the plot after such a long and thorough setup.
Jonathan Majors Created a Huge Problem for the MCU
The next Avengers movie is titled, The Kang Dynasty. Kang the Conqueror is set up as the next Big Bad across several Marvel properties, movies and shows alike. Jonathan Majors has already portrayed this character, leading up to his great entrance. And amid that all, the actor gets stuck in legal trouble deeper than himself.
Now, Marvel can’t work with him, because he's toxic; can’t recast him, because he has a contract; and can’t simply pretend there were never any Kangs, because we’ve seen them already. Loki spent an eternity setting up the Kang storyline, after all.
Fortunately, there is a way for the MCU to get rid of the Kangs in one sweep, finally putting the Jonathan Majors controversy behind — and it looks like the Deadpool 3 teaser has already set everything up for it. Say goodbye, the unlikely Conqueror.
Deadpool 3 Can Write off Kang the Conqueror
The one superhero (or rather, superantihero) who can — and likely will — take Kang out before the next Avengers movie comes around is Deadpool. “But Deadpool isn’t part of the MCU,” you may argue; and just a couple of weeks ago, you would’ve been correct. But not anymore — now, Deadpool has pretty much joined the MCU.
In the recent teaser trailer for Deadpool 3, we saw the Merc with a Mouth get abducted by the TVA and end up in the same Time Wasteland we saw in Loki. That effectively throws Deadpool right into the MCU through a clever backdoor… And guess who also vibes around those same parts? He Who Remains aka Kang!
The Merc with a Mouth now has the perfect opportunity to kill off Kang the Conqueror prematurely. Knowing this franchise, this may not even be an epic fight: just an accident or a drive-by as Deadpool and Wolverine continue on their main mission. But either way, Marvel has everything it needs to get rid of both Kang and Majors while giving an actual in-universe explanation…
Of course, this may not happen, but then it’d be a massive wasted opportunity. It’s not like Marvel has already scrubbed “The Kang Dynasty” off the next Avengers movie title, right?
