Seems like Deadpool 3 just can’t stop raising the expectations.

Deadpool 3 is getting some juicy updates. The director of the much-anticipated movie, Shawn Levy, just dropped a big announcement on Twitter. According to him, Rob Simonsen is the man confirmed to compose the score for Deadpool 3.

If that name doesn’t seem familiar, it should. Rob Simonsen has been in the business for a good while now, delighting our ears with his exquisite music. His most recent work include scores for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, The Whale, The Adam Project, and the incredible Stranger Things season 4.

Deadpool, as we know, is a unique blend of action, comedy, and fourth-wall-breaking dialogue, unlike any other superhero movie out there. The question on everyone's mind is — how will Simonsen's score factor into this wacky mix?

The music for the first Deadpool movie was composed by Tom Holkenborg, while Tyler Bates has composed the score for the sequel. Why is it Rob Simonsen now?

Levy’s choice of Simonsen is easily explainable. They have already worked together on The Adam Project (directed by Shawn Levy) and on Stranger Things season 4 (produced by Levy).

Rob Simonsen proved his ability to blend different music genres and styles, and he seems like the perfect choice for such a dynamic and unpredictable movie that Deadpool 3 is aiming to be.

Considering Deadpool's unconventional narrative, it’s going to be fun to see how Simonsen approaches this project. Will he maintain that comedic undertone or introduce an element of unpredictability with his score? Either way, we're betting it's going to be a sonic roller coaster ride.

The news of Simonsen jumping on board for Deadpool 3 just raises the bar of expectation which is already as high as it gets.

With Deadpool now being officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (after Disney acquired 21st Century Fox), with Hugh Jackman on board and the rumored return of the OG X-men, fans are dying to finally see this epic movie.

The movie was originally supposed to come out in the fall of 2024, but the release date was moved to six months earlier, on May 3, 2024. That means we only have less than a year to wait before we witness the epic combo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on the big screen.
