Let’s wait and see what the anniversary may bring.

There's not much to get soap opera fans excited about these days. As the genre began its slow decline in the 2010s, the only hope viewers have to get through the years is to see their favorite titles renewed for another year rather than canceled altogether.

Although Days of Our Lives has already faced the worst possible punishment before its cancellation – being moved from the broadcast network to streaming only - there are still a few things that fans of the show are hoping for. As the 60th anniversary slowly but surely approaches, viewers want to see comebacks of their favorite characters.

Bo and Hope Brady top the list of faces viewers are dying to see back in Salem, but the actors aren't so sure about the possibility of a return.

Peter Reckell Is Ready To Make It Happen

Peter Reckell, who portrayed Bo Brady, is the one who is more positive about the situation. While visiting the podcast Hey Dude... The 90's Called! with his co-star Kristian Alfonso, he was the one who expressed more excitement about the possibility of a comeback.

Although nothing is in the works yet, the actor mentioned that he wouldn't turn down an invitation.

Especially if it was tied to the show's big 60th anniversary celebration, which will hopefully happen in 2025. Bringing back veterans of the show is a great soap tradition that shouldn't be broken.

The Deal Isn’t Sealed Yet

Unfortunately for both Peter Reckell and fans of the super couple, Kristian Alfonso isn't too keen on returning to the show.

Although the idea sounds fun, the actress admits that she has had too many difficulties with the writers in the past. This may influence her decision if she receives an invitation:

“When we get new writers, sometimes they weren’t always familiar with the show. And that was one of the reasons why I had started saving my scripts, so I could go back and go, ‘Hey, listen, I know you want me to say “X, Y and Z” in this long monologue, but this never happened. It doesn’t track,’” she explained.

While the actress' desire to stay true to her character is completely understandable, fans still wish there was a way to bring both Reckell and Alfonso back for a reunion. To find out if that will happen or not, be sure to keep an eye out for all Days of Our Lives news and updates.
