Daredevil: Born Again Update Has All Netflix Fans in ‘We Told You’ Mode

Ever since the creators of Daredevil: Born Again, a MCU show that will pick up after the Daredevil TV series that ended in 2018, stated that the upcoming project would be different from its Netflix predecessor, fans have been extremely wary.

Although Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Jon Bernthal were set to reprise their roles as Daredevil, Kingpin, and Punisher, respectively, many fans of the original, who grew to love it over its three-season run, feared that its successor would fail to recapture its atmosphere.

The latest update on the series suggests that their fears may have been justified, as Born Again is currently undergoing a massive overhaul halfway through production, with head writers and most of the directors removed from their positions.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, up until this point, the show resembled more of a legal procedural than the dark and action-packed Netflix series, leading the studio to worry that this course might not be the best one.

Now, the show is headed in a new direction that will "honor what's so great about the source material."

Vincent D'Onofrio doesn't see it as a big deal, as many projects the actor has worked on over the years have undergone significant changes during production, and the creative department is just "doing their best to get it right."

Many fans also see this change of course as a good sign, as in light of the MCU's recent TV embarrassments like She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Secret Invasion, it seems that the studio has finally seen the error of its ways.

Frankly, it would have been a lot worse if Disney had just gone ahead with the show despite fan concerns, as it now has a better chance of being a worthy successor to the original Netflix series.

Hopefully, the changes being made will only benefit the show instead of burying it six feet under.

The new release date for the show hasn't been announced yet, but considering all of the above and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, it could be a long time before Daredevil: Born Again sees the light of day.
