Though largely loved by the fans, the Harry Potter movies had a major flaw, and Daniel Radcliffe is well aware of it; while he can’t fix it, he hopes MAX does better.

The Harry Potter movies starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as the Golden Trio were a massive commercial success and an outstanding cultural phenomenon. Following the road paved by the original books by J.K. Rowling, the movies took over the entire world and raised an entire generation of Muggles.

Even though the audience loved the movies in general, the true Potterheads have always had quite a few issues with the adaptations. There are too many to list, but they essentially all come down to the same issue: a whole bunch of content was changed or even cut out completely from the films due to time restrictions.

Everyone knows why such a decision was made, but it’s still a bummer. From plot-wise essential details and lore to sweet moments and secondary characters’ arcs, the movies are missing too many scenes and storylines that Potterheads hold dear. Apparently, Daniel Radcliffe himself wants this issue fixed in the MAX TV show.

Daniel is not just the former Harry Potter actor; he’s a fan of the story himself. When it comes to the new series, he’s one of the fans that hope the show turns out great.

“I’m excited for it as a viewer. I’ll be able to enjoy it with everyone else possibly, with a slightly different perspective. It’s a nice thing that a whole new generation is going to get introduced to the stories in a new way,” shared Radcliffe.

Aware of the original movies’ flaws, the actor wishes that MAX will be able to spend more screen time to cover all the secondary storylines and show all the details that were cut out or shortened in the films.

“They’ll see it as a TV series, so they’ll probably have time to go into all the things. So for the people that were angry about things that were cut from the film, hopefully, they will finally be able to see the full version they wanted,” Daniel elaborated.

What can we say? We, too, hope that the new show turns out as great as the movies and manages to cover more source material. After all, we (as in, we the Potterheads) have spent too many years debating about the inconsistencies and differences between the books and the movies, and the MAX series can end those for good.
