Cursed Moment When Grey's Anatomy Jumped The Shark
The one thing that even the most successful show can't get away from.
Grey's Anatomy is a long-running show with a lot of characters in the medical world trying to help people survive. But along with that, a lot of other things happen on the show.
Romance, betrayal, unexpected plot twists, and the departure of fan-favorite characters are just a small part of the huge list.
After all, the show is in its 19th season, so you can be sure that a lot has happened since it premiered in 2005.
So it's important to highlight not only the good stuff, but also the not-so-great moments of the show. Some of them are considered to be the show's "jumping the shark" moments.
Now, a true fan can probably think of at least a dozen scenes that could possibly be the show's moment of failure. And we can't blame that for thinking so poorly even about a really beloved show.
Frankly, there are many choices among the 416 episodes of the show, but the truth is that there is little doubt that one particular episode from season 7 is the dumbest of them all.
It's the musical episode Song Beneath the Song, which is said to be the biggest shark jump of all.
The thing is, it finally established that there was still some room for the show to go off the rails in a more hilarious way than it already had.
This particular episode is claimed to be not only the shark jumping moment, but also simply the worst episode (end there are 416 of them, as we mentioned).
The scene takes place after a tragic moment when Callie and Arizona get into a car accident during their romantic getaway.
And then the Seattle Grace gang swoops in to save not only Callie's life, but the life of her unborn child.
While this all still sounds normal, there is nothing quite normal about the episode, since what comes next is absolutely absurd, because in a moment you see everyone begin to sing.
The show tries to accomplish this by having Callie hallucinate that the doctors are singing around her.
And even though the scene has some really great singing actors, the overall tone of the episode is so off that it's hard to appreciate the vocals in this mess.
We are sure that even if there are some true fans of the show who have watched all 19 seasons over and over again, they will definitely skip this one.
It's absolutely cringeworthy and even painful to watch the beloved characters suffer for some nonsense the writers made them do.
Grey's Anatomy is available for streaming on fuboTV, Netflix, and Hulu Plus. Its 19th season airs on ABC, with the new episode, Come Fly With Me, premiering today.
