There are shows that we can re-watch hundreds of times, but even they have some storylines that make us cringe.

Friends is an absolute leader in the list of shows that can be watched over and over again, there is no doubt about it. Fans are obsessed with the jokes that sometimes don't even make sense, but are still iconic.

Main characters are not the only ones who enjoy endless love from the fandom, as sidekicks are also greatly loved even though they don't have as much screen time.

For example, Central Perk's Gunter or Elizabeth's legendary dad. In fact, there may be only one character who receives the collective hatred, and that's the copier girl, but let's save that talk for another time…

Even though the show is an all-time hit, there are so many different storylines that fit into 10 seasons that it's just impossible for them all to be good.

And sometimes, when binge-watching, fans just decide to skip over those twisted, cringe-worthy, or just extremely awkward storylines.

According to fans, one of the most ridiculous plotlines is Rachel and Joey being together as a couple.

"Yeah, the whole Rachel and Joey fiasco was the absolute lowest point of the series. The actors had zero chemistry and the idea was DOA from the beginning," Reddit user eru777 said.

But the issue is not that simple. Many fans agreed that Joey having feelings for Rachel was actually a good thing for his character. It showed that he had matured and was finally ready to have a serious relationship.

But even those who liked the general "crush" idea were disappointed with how the writers decided to handle it.

"I liked Joey finally having actual feelings for someone. I didn't even mind Rachel's crush. I thought their "date" scene was actually really cute. I did mind them giving it a try because it felt like I was watching relatives make out. Incredibly cringey," Reddit user Kilpikonnaa said.

In between these two "failed" and "kinda successful" relationships of Joey and Rachel there was one more storyline: "the accidental proposal".

The ridiculous misunderstanding that could have been solved with one sentence was turned into a huge nonsense thing.

Remember when Joey found the ring Ross had for Rachel on the floor of her hospital room and made it look like he was proposing?

And Rachel said yes... Fans are still trying to justify her behavior.

"She might have said yes due to the super crazy post-pregnancy hormones and lack of sleep, and thinking that she'd be alone because Ross wouldn't propose. Was it smart? No. Does it kinda make sense? Yes," Reddit user KathrynTheGreat said.

In the end, thanks to TV's almighty gods, we only got a brief glimpse of what could have been a romantic relationship between Rachel and Joey, but it seems that even that is enough for fans to skip the parts where the awkwardness between two friends goes on.
