The Only Retcon Explanation That Might Save The Winchesters
That's exactly what members of r/Supernatural subreddit discussed recently.
The post that started the discussion noted that Supernatural has quite a few "minor" scenes that can be major heartbreakers if you pay attention. The moment that hit the author right in the feels came in Season 8 Episode 13 titled Everybody Hates Hitler.
The Supernatural Episode Jared Padalecki Never Wants His Kids To See
In the episode, the Winchester brothers find the Men of Letters bunker that will become their new home and Dean gets very excited to have his own room and happily plunges into decorating and creating domestic comforts.
"It just is one of those times where it really hits you that the boys never really had a home. They lived in motels 99% of their life. And now they have a place to call 'home'," the Redditor wrote.
This scene is truly emotional if you remember the brothers have led a nomadic way of life since they were kids. Their mother was killed by a demon when Sam was just a baby, and their father was not very good at being a homebody person. The commenters agreed that the sentiment of the scene was very sweet and touching.
"I do love that scene, and it does choke you up if you think about the implications. I love how Dean almost reverently mounted his weapon on the wall, found the perfect place to store his vinyl, and finally found a safe resting place for his family photos," one of the fans wrote in the thread.
