Creepiest Euphoria Scene That Left Fans Absolutely Petrified
It's not even the Nate scenes we're talking about.
Euphoria had plenty of questionable and unsavory things going on over the course of its two seasons, but the show was generally about characters who were broken, and mainly delved into situations that were uncomfortable to watch but not really scary.
However, there were some scenes that were genuinely terrifying. And yes, one might argue that it was when Nate was at his worst, beating the guy almost to his death, but there was an episode that overshadowed even that.
Oh yes, we're talking about Laurie — the only character in Euphoria that "doesn't even have a remnant of a soul left in her", as fans put it — and everything that is related to her. Pretty much every scene with the ominous middle-aged lady drug dealer just sends shivers down one's spine and makes one genuinely fear for anyone who is around Laurie.
The creepiest scene in Euphoria, according to fans, was when Laurie bathed Rue and then drugged her again. What seemed as a helping gesture actually made one feel that Laurie was going to murder Rue or sell her to someone. Still, Rue somehow woke up safe and sound in the drug dealer's house, although it never helped anyone feel less creepy when watching that scene.
"I was so scared that all of that stuff with Laurie was going to lead to her trafficking Rue. I still kind of am, since that didn't get resolved in season 2," Redditor xpasho said.
The scene was so creepy that the fact that Laurie never did anything bad to Rue actually left people surprised.
"This felt so off and sent red flags in every possible way. Laurie's kinda sweet, kinda emotionless, kinda monotone voice combined with the blurred effect.. it was a lot," another Reddit user noted.
It only got worse when Laurie gave Rue a suitcase filled with drugs — only to say that she is going to sell Rue off to some horrible people if she didn't give her the money for the drugs.
Euphoria is full of creepy and uncomfortable moments — and now that the show has been greenlit for season 3, there are even more coming. However, the premiere date for the new season is unknown, and the filming has not started yet.
