The Director Plans To Resume Production After Thanksgiving

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director revealed that he has plans to begin full-fledged development after Thanksgiving:

“We managed to wrangle some control and started working on some ideas for Constantine 2 […]. It’s still the very beginning, as the strike put it on hold for a little bit. So we’re probably going to start getting back together after Thanksgiving, and dig back in to try and crack it.”

We can say one thing – let's hope that this is a final statement that will not be followed by new rumors about the freezing of such an anticipated project.

At the end of the first movie, the main character remains at the grave of his assistant and friend Chas. The open ending allows the screenwriters to be free in their ideas, but the plot of the sequel has not been revealed yet.

However, it is known that Lawrence plans to make the second installment more violent and mature, as the director followed the studio's instructions when making the first film and made it fit the PG-13 rating.

But Constantine still received an R rating after all, which upset Lawrence, who admitted that if he had known this in advance, he would have made the film for a more adult audience.
