It's always difficult to support those whose fate has already been decided. But what if it's your mom?

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is now in its season 5, and it is already causing a stir among fans, who are vehemently creating theories about the future of their beloved characters.

And what helps them are the show's time jumps. Each one gives us a glimpse into the future of some of the show's main characters.

For example, we already know that Joel will go to jail for his involvement with the mob. We know that Esther, Midge and Joel's daughter, will become a genius scientist.

We also found out that her brother, Ethan, will eventually move to Israel and work as a farmer. All this thanks to the time jumps that each new episode gives us.

The last episode of the season did the same with Rose Weissman. In episode 7 we learn something disturbing about Midge's mother.

It wasn't specified, but during one of the time jumps to the 1970s, Midge somehow hinted that her mother doesn't have long to live.

That happened in a scene where Rose was shooting a commercial for her matchmaking agency. The scenes seem funny at first, as Rose struggles with the jargon and rules of filming.

But later, when an accountant reveals that the commercials are draining Midge's bank account, she argues that her mother can have as much of her income as she wishes.

The main reason for that, as Midge mentions, is that this is the only thing her mother can have for her happiness "in the brief time she's got left."

So it doesn't matter if the business isn't successful, they won't close it.

Although it was never mentioned, it was clear from that one line from Midge that Rose is hopeless. She will probably soon become terminally ill and die quickly. And that would be a great loss for all the fans and the show.

The series is currently airing its fifth and final season on Amazon Prime Video. Next episode will be released on May 19.
